Following the success of La Boutique Fantasque in the previous year, Puppet & Its Double enjoys its fourth collaboration with National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) in Behold the Bold Umbrellaphant, where it again plays with the “small stage versus huge projection” technique to magically transform the American poet Jack Prelutsky’s intriguing picture book, and of course the marvelous characters, into a theatrical work. Every chapter written by Prelutsky is like a riddle, encouraging the artists to come up with extremely imaginative puppet design. With a persistent pursuit of being creative, Puppet & Its Double transforms daily objects or even the waste objects into surprising materials and unexpected performance. Let us thus board the time machine and take a trip back to our childhood!
