The Snow Prince

Follow the puppets to a stunning journey in Snowland’s Mysterious Black Forest

The Snow Prince, winner of Best Play Script and Production at Taipei Children’s Arts Festival, is an adaption of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. The stage transforms itself into a fairyland where twenty handmade puppets of various sizes and unique shapes are surrounded by a wishing well, pasture, black forest, and the palace of snow. The art design and the building of the set are The Puppet & Its Double Theater’s original works, in which it creates a fairytale-like atmosphere full of visual richness reminiscent of the mysterious black forest in Northern Europe. The actors of The Snow Prince are also puppeteers and narrators, inviting audience of all ages to begin a journey of courage, love, and adventure through storytelling. The mystical lighting and endearing music demonstrate a perfect combination of entertainment and aesthetics, creating a new milestone for Taiwan’s puppet theatre.
